AFF WindServices has projects in the United Kingdom and carried out some training to ensure that resources were properly trained with the courses required for the excellent performance of their functions:

SMSTS – Site Manager Safety Training Scheme

  • 5-day course (40 hours), with final exam and 82% success rate
  • 50% of managers have already completed it. The remaining 50% will do so in February

CDM Awareness – construction Design and Management Regulations

  • 3 managers traveled to Edinburgh to take this course.

The CDM course day   was scheduled for January 18th and we would like to remind you that there were some setbacks, but that these only highlighted people’s strong commitment to the project.

A manager had planned to leave Vilnius, Lithuania, for Edinburgh, Scotland, on January 17th. The flight that would have a stopover in Frankfurt was suddenly cancelled at the time of boarding. The alternative proposed by the airline did not allow him to arrive at his destination in time to take the course. The CEO then decided to buy a ticket for another flight at the same time, resolving the situation immediately. The manager had a stopover in Amsterdam and managed to arrive in Edinburgh at 7:50 am on the day of the course. We commend the availability and commitment of both the CEO and the manager in successfully overcoming this challenge.

Another manager flew from Helsinki, Finland, to Edinburgh on January 17th, with a return flight scheduled for the 19th, so that he could start working on the project early in the afternoon. Unfortunately, this return flight was cancelled and, once again, the available alternative did not allow him to reach his destination in time. The CEO took action again and booked a ticket for another flight, which quickly resolved the problem.

The CEO also traveled to monitor the project’s operations. He traveled from Lisbon to Helsinki on January 17, with his return scheduled for the 19th. But as there are always two trips without three, the stopover from Frankfurt to Lisbon also underwent changes, with the flight being rescheduled for the following day.

These trips coincided, by sheer chance, with  the cancellation of almost half of the flights in Germany due to bad weather . But not even that deterred AFF Wind from its commitment, doing absolutely everything to overcome the various challenges that persisted in arising at the last minute, thus successfully fulfilling what it had set out to do.
